Our first Christmas fair

“And suddenly a dark little corner was transformed into our pretty universe…”

A cloudy and snowy morning in the countryside, a hidden space at the back of a church, two women motivated to start their first Christmas fair, a lot of fairy lights and hot coffee. What sounds like the start of a Christmas story was the start of our first fair. Kerstin, who is responsible for the market decoration because she has a lot of experience from her previous jobs, created a lovely and exciting display, with wood, nature and felt elements – everything handmade and collected by herself, including some little accidental beetles.

It was a lot of work but, looking at the finished display, it definitely paid off. We presented our individual collections and our felted and lampworked stocking. In addition, we created a lot of Christmas stuff like buntings, little burlap gift bags, Christmas earrings and candle holders. So we were quite busy the weeks before to create all the lovely things to sell and to deliver our idea of Christmas to all the interested visitors.

In the end I can say that it was a good experience and we met a lot of lovely and creative people, which is always great. We even had some time for product pictures and business discussions. Following the fair we enjoyed a little Christmas party and were both really happy to fall in our beds after a busy and exciting day.
